Alex Cuba: Directo
I like this acoustic performance by Cuban-Canadian artist Cuba, who takes sideburns very seriously.
Julie Feeney: Impossibly Beautiful
In truth, I'm not crazy about this song, although it is an interesting bit of pop, but the video is captivating, isn't it? Feeney is an incredible talent, playing over 12 instruments along with a charming voice.

The Head & The Heart
How does Seattle do it? This is another great band from that wonderful west coast city.
Codebreaker: Fire
This song has a wonderfully vintage sound to it, and while it is certainly danceable, there is something about it that makes me want to hop in a car and drive. Codebreaker is a Milwaukee-based band, don't be fooled by other bands with the same name.
James: Say Something
Going a few years back once again, to 1994 I believe, for this tune. This English group had its peak of popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Camera Obscura: French Navy
Off this Scottish band's 2009 album, My Maudlin Career. Just as catchy now as when it was first released.

Zap Mama
This Belgian band's leader, Marie Daulne, states that she is driven by her goal of bringing Europe and Africa closer through music. It is a lofty goal, but somehow it is easy to believe that songs like this could help to achieve that goal. Let me know what you think.
Everest: Let Go
Off the well-documented 2010 album On Approach.

Jose Gonzalez: Put Your hand On Your Heart
I think you'll enjoy this fantastic cover from 2006. To hear the awful original by Kylie Minogue, click here.
Middle Brother: Me Me Me
Off this band's self-titled debut album, released earlier this month.

Plastiscines: Barcelona
French rock sung in English. From the 2009 album, About Love. Not brilliant, but fun, don't you think?
The Drums: Let's Go Surfing
This is another fun song from another Brooklyn-based indie band. What do they put in the water out there?
The Antlers Redux
Sorry, I couldn't resist posting this interesting song and video off The Antlers' 2009 album, Hospice. If anything, it will help those of you who had never heard them before hearing the live bit posted below get an idea of what their studio work sounds like.
The Antlers: Burst Apart
The song below is off this Brooklyn-based band's forthcoming album, Burst Apart.
Magnetic Fields Redux
Off the 2010 album, Realism.
Magnetic Fields: All My Little Words
One of my favorite Stephin Merritt / Magnetic Fields songs, off the 1999 album 69 Love Songs.
Ozomatli: Fire Away
Ozomatli is a Los Angeles-based band that has around 10 members, give or take a few depending on the performance. The band uses turntables, brass, winds, all types of percussion, and nearly everything else to create an energy-filled sound that is reflective of the diversity of their bustling hometown. The song below is off their 2010 album, Fire Away.
Bobby Long: Dead & Done Blues
Here is a solid blues-drenched folk tune by this British artist, who is signed to Dave Matthews' record label, ATO Records.
!!! (Chk Chk Chk)
This song, AM/FM, is off this Sacramento-based band's 2010 album, Strange Weather, Isn't It?

Agnes Obel: On Powdered Ground
Enjoy the following live performance by this Berlin-based Danish artist.

Jesse Malin: Queen of the Underworld
I love the Rolling Stones-esque sound of this 2003 Single.

Cage the Elephant: In One Ear
American rock from Kentucky. This is off their 2008 album, but check out their recently released album, Thank You, Happy Birthday, which is equally as rocking.
Shocking Pinks
Here's the song, This Aching Deal, off their 2007 self-titled album.
GuSHee: When I Think of You . . . Sunshine
This Toronto-based duo's self-titled debut album will be available March 8th 2011 on Otnorot Recordings
