We all know Bjork, and here is a new song off her upcoming album, Biophilia. Doesn't it get more and more interesting as it plays on?

Radical Fashion: Odori LP
Hirohito Ihara, the founder of Radical Fashion, looks to the sea, French Impressionism, and his own ideas of history when writing music. The result is a unique ambient sound that combines classical piano and electronica. The Odori LP was released in 2007, check out the band's website here.

Dengue Fever: Family Business
This Los Angeles-based band is said to combine Cambodian pop with psychedelic rock. And, in truth, I'm not sure that I totally understand it, but the music is good, and as the chorus of this song states, business is good for this band.

Isn't this what pop should sound like? Lerche's self-titled album was released earlier this month.

Michael Kiwanuka: Tell Me A Tale
You will love this soulful song off of this British artist's recent release which reminds me of Van Morrison.

Dom: Living in America
You can't take this New England-based band too seriously when they have an EP entitled Sun Bronzed Greek Gods, and a song with a chorus like, "it's so sexy to be living in America;" but I believe that's exactly how they want it. I also think that the lo-fi style of the music adds to their tongue-in-cheek (or, if you must, juvenile) approach.

Gauntlet Hair: I Was Thinking
Here's a catchy song by one of the many quality rock bands coming out of Colorado.

Here is an interesting bit of pop from last year. Minus the Bear is from Seattle. Can't you picture them working as baristas in between tours?

tUnE-yArDs: Bizness
tUnE-yArDs is New England native Merrill Garbus. I think this one woman show has a tantalizing sound. What do you think?
Givers: Ceiling of Plankton
This quirky song has Summer written all over it. The Givers are from Louisiana. Check out their recent album, In Light.
King Curtis and The Kingpins: Memphis Soul Stew
Here's a fun song from a great American musician.
Burial & Four Tet featuring Thom Yorke: Ego
Alright, so I know that Burial and Four Tet were involved with this piece, and they can clearly be heard here, but with all respect to them, my initial reaction is, Thom Yorke did it again.

Little Dragon: Nightlight
Off this Swedish band's soon-to-be-released album, Ritual Union.
Discovery: Swing Tree
Discovery is a duo composed of Vampire Weekend's keyboardist and Ra Ra Riot's vocalist. This song was released last year and I think you can hear bits of both bands in it.
Quetzal: Planta de Los Pies
One might easily overlook this Los Angeles-based band because in our culture of over-specialized genres, they are often labeled as Chicano-Rock, which is likely confusing to many and off-putting to others.
While I suppose that desciption is technically accurate, there is much more to the story when it comes to this band. Hear it for yourself:

Diego Garcia: You Were Never There
You will enjoy this dreamy, 60's infused single by this NYC-based artist who was the frontman for the now defunct band Elefant.
The Pinker Tones
Hailing from Barcelona, Spain, this band's music is an eclectic mixture of genres, although everything revolves around an overall electronic vibe. Their portfolio is filled with lots of neat, tightly written songs that make one long for Summer. Take, for example, the song below, Estirado al Sol, off their 2010 album, Modular.

Alexander: Truth
The lead singer of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros has an incredible solo album out and here is a fabulous song off of it that mixes 1960's rock with R&B.
If you enjoy this, listen to the entire album, and while you're at it, see Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros live this summer, as they're playing at a zillion festivals all over.

Grieves: Bloody Poetry
This is from the same label that brought us Atmosphere. The video is macabre, and there is something that doesn't sit right with me about a geeky looking white guy singing hip hop, but if you can get past all that I think this is a good single.
Beirut: Goshen
This is a chilled out track off Beirut's upcoming album, The Rip Tide, set to be released later this summer. I'm looking forward to hearing how they continue to develop. What do you think?
Rubblebucket: Came Out of a Lady
The brass in the song is addicting! I hope this Vermont-based band continues to produce such electrifying pop.
